Student Activities

Student activities offered by Triangle Tech include:

• Student Advisory Council

  Student Advisory Council is the representative voice of the student body. The Student Advisory Council has been instituted to serve as a representative group of concerned students who can bring student matters to the attention of the administration. It also facilitates and coordinates all student-related events such as social gatherings, charitable events, sports events, etc. The council is made up of elected representatives from each class and a faculty advisor from each curriculum. Elections are held shortly after the beginning of each semester.

• ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers)

  The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers advances the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world. Membership is open to any person associated with the field including indoor air quality, building design and operation, and environmental control for food processing and industry. Membership in ASHRAE, which is offered at Triangle Tech, Pittsburgh and Triangle Tech Greensburg, allows access to information about state-of-the-art HVAC&R technology and provides many opportunities to participate in the development of that technology. Participation is available locally, through chapters, and through membership on Society committees, such as standards projects committees, which are responsible for the development of standards, and technical committees which advise the Society on research needs, emerging technologies, and technical matters.

• NAHB (National Association of Home Builders)

  The NAHB Student Chapters program helps to enrich the educational experience of students enrolled in construction-related fields such as construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate, and the trades.

• AWS (American Welding Society)

  Active participation in an AWS Student Chapter provides the knowledge, experience and networking needed to begin a successful career in the welding field. Participation in a Student Chapter can provide AWS Student Members valuable experience for career and personal development. Membership in AWS Student chapters is offered at Triangle Tech, Pittsburgh, DuBois, Sunbury, and Bethlehem school locations.
