Distance Learning for Students

Effective June 29, 2021, all Triangle Tech students returned to in-person classroom instruction.

As we move to implement our Distance Learning Plan, we wanted to give students and an idea of what to expect. Students will still be given instruction and learning but through a virtual learning plan via Google Classroom beginning April 14, 2020. To help students become familiar with working virtually, we will dedicate time to teach students how to work with the essential components of a Google Classroom. As we move forward with the Distance Learning Plan, it is vital that students stay connected.

We appreciate your commitment to learning during this process and we will continue to update you as the situation evolves.

Computer & Internet Access

Computer & Internet Access

  • All students will be issued a new HP Chromebook and will use that device for online learning during the school closure.
  • We are working with local internet providers to increase Wi-Fi availability. If you have no Internet service, or poor Internet signal, we will try to resolve the issue by way of technology.

Distance Learning Format

  • Students are expected to check in and communicate with instructors regularly.
  • Triangle Tech will assist students with Internet service if necessary.
  • If you have experienced technical difficulties, please contact HELP immediately at 412-436-9290 / help@triangle-tech.edu

Academic & Instructional Content Delivery

Academic & Instructional Content Delivery

  • Students will have access to digital materials and instructional activities that will help them to remain engaged during the time that our schools are required to remain closed.
  • Students will use Google Classroom and other conferencing and learning Apps as chosen by instructors.
  • Beginning April 14, 2020, instructor directed training will be delivered through Google Classroom.
  • Students are reminded that once in person classes resume, all required lab work needed to complete online course requirements will be taught in person in shops, or labs at Triangle Tech.

Online Grading Policy

Spring 2020 Online Grading Policy

  • Triangle Tech administration has determined that all online delivered classes will be graded Pass / Fail instead of on the basis of our standard grading policy. We are doing this in recognition of the fact that online delivery differs in many ways from in person classes.
  • Pass/Fail grading will not impact a student’s Grade Point Average in any negative way. In the event a student would fail a course, the student may repeat the failed course free of charge.
  • All online courses will be graded on a Pass / Fail basis.
