Triangle Tech congratulates their 2017 scholarship winners

Triangle Tech recently announced their 2017 scholarship award recipients. All of these winners have demonstrated outstanding achievement, talent, and leadership qualities. Financial need is not a consideration in determining these awards. Triangle Tech awards one scholarship for each of its Associate in Specialized Technology Degree program offered. This year, there were over 50 applicants and 20 of these students received the scholarship to cover 25% of their tuition cost. The winners are selected by an independent committee comprised of individuals representing business, education and government.

These scholarships are given once a year. Congratulations to all of our 2017 recipients!

At the Pittsburgh school, there were five students that earned this honor. The 2017 Scholarship Winners are: Nathan McClurg, a 2017 graduate of North Hills High School for Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, John Wagner, who earned his GED for Carpentry and Construction, Tamara Trent, a 2002 Langley High School graduate for Maintenance Electricity, Blake Leidemann, a 2017 South Park High School graduate for Welding and David Tillman, a 2017 Riverview High School graduate for Welding.

At the Erie School, there were 2 winners for the 2017 Computer-Aided Drafting and Design award: Alec Wienczkowski, a 2017 PA Cyber graduate and Zachary Foltz a 2013 Titusville Area graduate.

The Greensburg school had four students earn scholarships. The 2017 Welding Scholarship Winner is Dakota Spirnock, a 2017 Evangel Heights Christian Academy graduate. The Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Scholarship Winner is Zachary White, a 2017 Harmony Area High School graduate. The Maintenance Electricity Scholarship Winner is James Harvey, a 2017 Penns Manor High School graduate. Megan Block, a 2017 Forest Hills High School graduate is the winner for Computer-Aided Drafting & Design award.

At the DuBois School, there were three students that earned this honor. The 2017 Computer-Aided Drafting & Design Scholarship Winner is Joe Schultz, a 2016 graduate of Clearfield High School. The 2017 Maintenance Electricity Scholarship Winner is Kalie Runyan, a 2017 graduate of St. Mary's High School. The 2017 Welding Scholarship Winner is Anthony Vicini, a 2017 Blacklick Valley High School graduate.

The Sunbury School also awarded three scholarships to students. The 2017 Maintenance Electricity Scholarship Winner is Sage Blass, a 2017 graduate of Muncy High School and Lycoming CTC. Sunbury awarded 2 Welding Scholarship winner this year. They are; Isaac Bell, a 2017 Line Mountain High School graduate and Jeremiah Martin a 2014 Canton Area High School graduate.

At the Bethlehem School, there were three students that earned this honor. The 2017 Carpentry & Construction Scholarship Winner is Thomas Bonilla, a 2017 graduate from Freedom High School. The 2017 Maintenance Electricity Scholarship Winner is Brian Fell, a 2009 Easton Area High School graduate. The 2017 Welding Scholarship Winner is Devin Thebodeau, a 2016 Emmaus High School graduate.

We would like to congratulate all the winners of the award and also to all those that applied. This year the scholarship committee had their work cut out for them. Congratulations and best of luck!
