ACCSC and PDE Placement Rate Methodology

Who is included in the calculation of this rate?

The reporting period used to complete the Graduate and Employment chart within the 2017 ACCSC Annual Report is determined by the length of the program in months. Triangle Tech AST Degree programs are 16 months in length; therefore the required reporting time frame is based on start date cohorts between April 2014 and March 2015 at Triangle Tech.

What types of jobs were these students placed in?

The job placement rate includes completers hired for:  The employment is directly related to the program from which the individual graduated.

When were the former students employed?

This report tracks employment for students employed between October 1, 2015  through September 30, 2017.

How were completers tracked?

Triangle Tech follows guidelines for employment classification in compliance with ACCSC Standards of Accreditation and utilizes employment verification forms to track and verify placement. The Initial employment verification confirmation contact is with the Employer and/or Graduate. Additional employment follow-up is also performed by the Career Advising Staff.

Who was excluded from the placement calculations?

The definition of “Unavailable for Employment” (exclusions) from the ACCSC G&E Chart is as follows for graduates:  Unavailable for Employment (formerly "other unavailable") - This category removes from the graduation rate calculation graduates who fall into one of the following categories: death, incarceration, active military service deployment, the onset of a medical condition that prevents employment, or international students who have returned to their country of origin.

Who is included in the calculation of this rate?

The reporting period for the 2016-2017 Pennsylvania Department of Education Private Licensed Schools Annual Statistical Report, Section 6, is based on students who graduated between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.

What types of jobs were these students placed in?

The job placement rate includes completers hired for:  The employment is directly related to the program from which the individual graduated.

When were the former students employed?

Employment data was collected July 1, 2015 through September 30, 2017.

How were completers tracked?

Triangle Tech follows guidelines for employment classification in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Private Licensed Schools Annual Report criteria and utilizes employment verification forms to track and verify placement. The Initial employment verification confirmation contact is with the Employer and/or Graduate.  Additional employment follow-up is also performed by the Career Advising Staff.

Who was excluded from the placement calculations?

The PA Dept of PLS Annual Report does not provide an Employment Rate.   Rather, the schools list the number of graduates under the following placement categories:

Placement Categories:

1. Not Available For or Not Seeking Employment. Graduates who, for whatever reason, do not desire employment and, therefore, are not seeking it. This category also includes graduates who took the program or course for self-improvement without the aim of seeking employment.
2. Continuing Postsecondary Education. Graduates who enrolled at another institution of postsecondary education.
3. Entered Military Service. Graduates who enlisted in any of the armed services of the United States.
4. Not Employed, But Seeking Employment. Graduates who are not currently employed, but are actively looking for employment.
5. Employed in Related Fields. Graduates who are employed in a field of work that is related to the graduate’s field of study at the school and whose employment or promotion is a result of the training. Graduates who had a position in the field prior to the training and who remained in that position and at the same level following training should be reported under "other".
6. Employed in Unrelated Field. Graduates who are employed in a field of work that is not related to the graduate’s field of study at the school.
7. Other. Graduates whose employment circumstances are known by the school but which do not fit into the other categories.
8. Unknown. Graduates whose employment circumstances are not known by the school.
